Tallyah Nasol, Camille Jones, Lilicca Giometti, Rosalie Piukala Headline MVP Performers at Hype Her Hoops The Town Classic

OAKLAND, CA — Hype Her Hoops continued its fall circuit with The Town Classic, September 26-27 in Oakland, bringing together girls basketball programs from across California and the West Coast.

The weekend featured championship performances across seven divisions, with Tallyah Nasol, Camille Jones, Lilicca Giometti, Charlotte Chin, Rosalie Piukala, Madeleine Ho and Bailee Gray earning MVP honors.

Nasol helped Team Inspire capture the 17U Gold championship behind her perimeter shotmaking and two-way presence, while Jones delivered on both ends for 17U Silver champion Team Synergy. Giometti led Bay City Jr 3SSB to the 15U/16U title, and Piukala produced one of the weekend’s top statistical performances during Team Kidd’s 8th Gold championship run.

Team Inspire closed its weekend with a 50-32 victory over SFBC to capture the 17U Gold championship.

MVP: Tallyah Nasol | Team Inspire

Nasol was a driving force behind Team Inspire’s 17U Gold championship, bringing speed, perimeter shotmaking and defensive pressure from the point guard position. The 5’3″ floor general consistently stretched defenses, knocking down 2.8 threes per game, while showing the quick first step to get downhill and create advantages off the dribble. Her speed translates to the defensive end, where she applies pressure at the point of attack and can turn disruption into transition opportunities. Nasol’s combination of shotmaking, playmaking instincts and competitiveness gives her a strong guard profile despite her size, with continued development as a creator and decision-maker against length an important next layer in her projection.

Segura Freixenet brings a physical presence with strong instincts around the paint. She tracks the ball well off the glass, uses her frame to establish position and showed the ability to impact possessions defensively with 1.0 block per game. She is effective working inside the arc and plays with good awareness on both ends. Continued development of her perimeter shooting and ability to create off the dribble will add another layer to her offensive profile.

Gabriella Williams | Team Inspire — 12.3 PPG | 5.0 RPG | 1.0 APG | 1.3 SPG | 1.3 BPG

Williams is a 5’9″ Class of 2027 wing/forward with the versatility to impact the game in multiple roles. She plays with strength getting downhill, can initiate offense and shows the vision to create for teammates when the defense collapses. Defensively, her size, physicality and mobility allow her to match up across multiple positions. At The Town Classic, that versatility showed in her 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game, giving Team Inspire production on both ends during its 17U Gold championship run. Her combination of positional versatility, toughness and two-way impact remains a strong part of her projection.

Mary Tava | Team NorCal Gold — 6.3 PPG | 1.7 RPG | 0.7 SPG | 1.0 BPG | 1.0 3PM

Tava showed a physical forward profile with intriguing two-way tools. She uses her size well around the paint, showed good defensive instincts as a help-side presence and competed on the glass. Offensively, her willingness to step away from the paint and knock down perimeter shots adds another dimension to her game. Tava is a player to continue tracking as her perimeter game and overall offensive versatility develop.

Terrazia Smith | Droppin Dimes — 12.0 PPG | 3.7 RPG | 1.0 SPG

Smith is a long, athletic Class of 2028 guard/wing who brings a strong two-way presence. Her length and lateral quickness allow her to pressure the ball, disrupt passing lanes and defend multiple perimeter positions. Offensively, she is at her best attacking gaps, using a quick first step and fluid handle to get downhill and finish in the paint. She plays with a strong motor and shows the versatility to impact possessions without needing the ball. Continued development of her perimeter shot will further expand an already intriguing two-way profile.

Team Synergy turned in one of the weekend’s most decisive championship performances, defeating Team NorCal 16U Gold 67-30.

Jones delivered strong two-way production throughout the event. She averaged 16.3 points and 3.0 steals per game, providing Team Synergy with a consistent scoring presence while creating disruption defensively. Her activity at the point of attack and ability to generate turnovers complemented her offensive production throughout Team Synergy’s championship run.

Giometti continues to establish herself as an intriguing young guard prospect. She plays with confidence from beyond the arc, has range to stretch the defense and shows the ability to find shooting opportunities within the flow of the offense. Giometti has also shown she can contribute on the glass and impact games beyond her scoring. Her combination of perimeter shotmaking, guard skills and production while playing up makes her a young prospect worth continuing to track.

Piukala was one of the most impressive young prospects at The Town Classic, leading Team Kidd to the 8th Gold championship while averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The 5’6″ Class of 2031 guard/wing has advanced creation ability for her age, using a tight handle, change of direction and quickness off the dribble to create separation and get into the paint. She is comfortable generating her own offense and showed the physical tools to rebound from the perimeter as well. Playing up against older competition, Piukala’s combination of size, ball skills and scoring ability makes her a compelling young prospect to continue tracking.
