The Grassroots 365 Summer Showdown brought another competitive weekend of basketball to OGP Anaheim and OGP Ladera, crowning champions across 16 divisions. GameSpeed Academy 13U Gold delivered one of the weekend’s most dominant championship performances, defeating Chosen Elite 73-39 to capture the 14U Silver title behind MVP Noel Jimenez.

Championship: GameSpeed Academy 13U Gold 73, Chosen Elite 39
GameSpeed Academy controlled the championship from the opening minutes, combining efficient perimeter shooting with dominant defense. Noel Jimenez delivered 15 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, while Jericho Sabater added 15 points and three rebounds. Aaron Li contributed 14 points, six rebounds and three assists, and Marcus Valdovinos supplied eight points and two steals. GameSpeed connected on 11 three-pointers, recorded eight blocks and played without a turnover while building a lead as large as 37 points.

Gametime Vancouver established control early, building a 13-point first-half advantage behind a 7-0 scoring run and steady defensive pressure. Zeek Brown powered the champions with 16 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, while Adrian Tatieze supplied 10 points. Gametime recorded six steals and consistently turned its defense into transition opportunities. OC Swoosh won the rebounding battle 27-24 and stayed competitive behind Oliver Infante’s 13 points and three three-pointers, along with eight rebounds from Ethan Eslao. Gametime’s strong start and ability to convert extra possessions secured the 11-point championship victory.

Open Gym Premier Ladera pulled away from a close first half with a strong finish, using defensive pressure and timely free-throw shooting to create separation. Cole Evans led the champions with 17 points, four rebounds and two steals while converting seven free throws. Oliver Dimick added seven points, three rebounds and a key block that helped shift the momentum. Ladera generated eight steals, put together a critical 7-0 run and made 12 free throws to secure the championship. Julius Crumby led Garden Grove with seven points and 12 rebounds.

Ladera Premier took control early and pulled away behind a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive pressure. Nico Scarbo led the champions with 15 points, two rebounds and two assists, while Lincoln Gordon contributed nine points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Dilan Sech added eight points, and Ladera used a 17-point scoring run, nine steals and two blocks to create separation. Hudson Gregorio scored 13 points and Kai Schneider added eight for Team Twenty Two, but Ladera’s early advantage and balanced production secured the 19-point championship win.
