📍 Rock Hill, SC — The 2026 adidas 3SSB 17U Palmetto Road Championship brought together many of the circuit’s top programs, and when the weekend concluded, the 3SSB circuit’s No. 1 team, New Heights NYC, stood atop the field. Led by Championship MVP Kamari Whyte, New Heights combined defensive toughness, poise, and timely execution to capture the title while several of the nation’s top prospects delivered standout performances throughout the event.

🏆 Palmetto Road Championship Recap

New Heights NYC lived up to its No. 1 ranking, edging Mass Rivals 3SSB, 66-64, to capture the 2026 adidas 3SSB 17U Palmetto Road Championship in a battle between two of the nation’s premier programs. In front of a packed crowd at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center, New Heights relied on its composure, defensive execution, and timely free-throw shooting to withstand a furious late rally from Mass Rivals and secure the championship.

Championship MVP Kamari Whyte led the way with 20 points and six rebounds, consistently attacking the basket and making winning plays throughout the afternoon. Kamsi Awaka anchored the defense with 10 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks, while Caleb Lundy added 12 points, converting all six of his free-throw attempts. New Heights committed just three turnovers and capitalized at the foul line, knocking down 22 free throws to close out the title.

Mass Rivals battled until the final possession behind an unforgettable performance from Antonio Pemberton, who erupted for 33 points, including a remarkable late scoring run that nearly stole the championship. Finn McCauley added 11 points and six rebounds, while Derek Swartz contributed seven points, five rebounds, and two blocks. Despite outrebounding New Heights 33-25 and receiving a heroic effort from Pemberton, Mass Rivals came up just short in one of the most entertaining championship games of the adidas 3SSB season.

If given even the slightest opening, Zachary can shoot the lights out from beyond the arc, making him a constant threat with or without the ball in his hands. Just as impressive was the grit he displayed throughout the weekend, battling through an ankle injury while continuing to produce at a high level. His toughness, leadership, and ability to impact winning were evident every time he stepped on the floor.

Darius Wabbington — Compton Magic

Wabbington continued to establish himself as one of the premier big men in the 2027 class, putting together another dominant weekend on the adidas 3SSB circuit. A consensus five-star prospect, he makes the game look effortless with his exceptional feel, elite passing ability, and soft touch around the basket. Wabbington is much more than a traditional post player, consistently creating offense from the high post, finding cutters, and making advanced reads that few players his size can execute. 🏆 Palmetto Road Consolation Championship Recap

Lakeshow erased a 15-point halftime deficit with an explosive second-half comeback to defeat ETG Midwest, 89-83, and capture the 2026 adidas 3SSB 17U Palmetto Road Consolation Championship. After trailing early, Lakeshow caught fire from beyond the arc and outscored ETG Midwest 47-26 after the break, turning one of the event’s biggest deficits into an impressive championship victory.

Consolation Championship MVP William Brandon Hahn delivered a dominant all-around performance with 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal. Hahn controlled the game on both ends while anchoring the comeback, earning MVP honors behind one of the best individual performances of the weekend. Asante Johnson added 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers, while Siincere Hudson contributed 15 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Lakeshow’s perfect 16-for-16 performance from the free-throw line and 11 made three-pointers proved to be the difference in the second-half surge.

ETG Midwest controlled much of the first half behind a balanced offensive attack led by Archie Weatherspoon V, who finished with 17 points and five rebounds. Nicare Cavil added 14 points on four made three-pointers, while Dakari Wilson and Carter Margheim each scored 12 points. Despite building a double-digit lead and shooting efficiently throughout the game, ETG Midwest couldn’t withstand Lakeshow’s offensive explosion after halftime.

Behind an efficient offensive performance and relentless work on the glass, TJ Ford Academy built an early double-digit lead and never allowed Open Gym Premier to seriously threaten, finishing the weekend with an impressive championship victory.

Passport Championship MVP Maddox Davis led the way with a game-high 21 points while adding four rebounds and two blocks, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. Austin Stewart recorded a dominant double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Justin Thomas filled the stat sheet with 11 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Chase Richardson also played a key role with 10 points and six assists as TJ Ford Academy shot efficiently, won the rebounding battle 30-22, and shared the basketball with 16 assists.

The championship featured six lead changes and was decided in the closing seconds, as Team Loaded Gold answered every challenge before making the winning plays down the stretch to secure the title.

Gold Championship MVP MJ Montague filled the stat sheet with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists, five steals, and a block, impacting the game in every phase. Trenton Smalling added 12 points and five rebounds, while Jovin Johnson scored 11 points, including a clutch basket in the final minute. Team Loaded Gold also received 10 points from Abram Schrinel and finished with just six turnovers, allowing them to capitalize on key possessions late in the game.
