GameSpeed Academy captured the 14U Girls Select championship at the Jr. 3SSB West Open Qualifier, defeating 626ers 39–29 behind MVP Marissa Huang, who averaged 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals.
Held October 3–4 in Anaheim and Ladera Ranch, California, the event crowned five girls’ division champions. Leverage Bulldogs won 14U Stripes, Dubs Elite secured 13U Select, High Desert Elite Basketball claimed 13U Stripes, and Young Nalas took home the 12U Select championship.

14U Girls Select
GameSpeed Academy defeated 626ers 39–29 to capture the championship. Marissa Huang earned MVP honors after averaging 11.8 points and 2.5 made three-pointers per game. Teammate Saoirse McCassy received Second Team recognition.
Runner-up 626ers placed Ava Aleman and Kendall Le on the First Team. Le averaged 9.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 4.5 steals, while Bay City’s Emily Wong contributed 14.3 points and 2.5 assists per game.
MVP: Marissa Huang (GameSpeed Academy Gold) — 11.8 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 1.8 SPG, 2.5 made threes per game
Huang creates advantages off the dribble with a tight handle, direct attacks into the paint and confident perimeter shooting. She reads the help defense, finds shooters with timely kick-outs and delivers cross-court passes when defenders rotate. Her one-handed advance passes generate opportunities in transition, while her scoring and distribution keep teammates involved in the half-court.

14U Girls Stripes
Leverage Bulldogs defeated Trinity Legacy 37–14 to claim the championship.
Cielli Jones earned MVP honors after averaging 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 steals. She led the championship game with 18 points, including four made three-pointers. Salevalasisamuaimalae Mackenzie added seven points, four rebounds and four steals in the final.

Jones combines confident perimeter shooting with disruptive guard defense. She applies pressure on the ball, generates steals and turns defensive stops into scoring opportunities. Her toughness and competitive approach help her hold her own against older players, while her shooting gives Leverage Bulldogs a reliable scoring option. She brings consistent energy and leadership to both ends of the floor.

13U Girls Select
Dubs Elite overcame a one-point halftime deficit to defeat 7 Days 41–36 and capture the championship. Dubs held a 38–18 rebounding advantage and made 13 free throws, compared with six for 7 Days.
Aamira Defay earned MVP honors after averaging 17.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.4 blocks. She delivered 20 points, 21 rebounds, six steals and two blocks in the championship game. Teammate Lilah Yates averaged 7.0 rebounds and received First Team recognition.
Amelia Alamo finished the final with eight points and eight rebounds for 7 Days, while Brooklynn Reid added nine points and three assists.

Defay establishes a strong interior presence with her length, physicality and timing around the basket. She controls the glass, contests shots and finishes in the paint through contact, creating second-chance opportunities and drawing fouls. She recognizes perimeter options out of the post and delivers quick outlet passes after defensive rebounds. Her developing midrange touch adds another scoring option to a game built around interior production and defensive impact.

13U Girls Stripes
Cal Storm High Desert Elite Basketball edged Trinity Legacy 41–39 to capture the championship. Azalea Monden earned MVP honors after averaging 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds.
Teammate Cali Freeman averaged 8.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.3 steals, then recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the final. High Desert collected 14 steals in the championship game.
Tenley Austrian led Trinity Legacy with 19 points, including five made three-pointers, and added four rebounds and one assist.
MVP: Azalea Monden (Cal Storm High Desert Elite Basketball) — 14.5 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 1.0 APG, 1.8 SPG
Monden’s combination of size and athleticism allows her to impact multiple areas of the game. She pairs reliable midrange shooting with strong finishes in the paint and the ability to score from the perimeter. She recognizes help defenders and finds teammates when the defense commits to her. Her activity defensively generates steals, giving High Desert a versatile contributor whose value extends beyond scoring.

12U Girls Select
Young Nalas defeated 24/8 Academy Jr. 3SSB 43–17 to capture the championship. Defensive pressure set the tone, as Young Nalas recorded 18 steals and built a 28–9 halftime lead.
Aubrey Bontogon earned MVP honors after averaging 12.3 points and 2.3 made three-pointers per game. She led the final with 15 points, including three made threes, and added two rebounds and two assists.
All-Tournament selection Jordynn Hidalgo averaged 3.8 assists and 4.5 steals during the tournament and contributed five points, two rebounds and five assists in the final. Eliya Muniz added six points and six rebounds in the championship win.
MVP: Aubrey Bontogon (Young Nalas) — 12.3 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 2.3 made threes per game
Bontogon’s primary value comes as a perimeter scorer, with outside shooting forming the core of her offensive game. Her production beyond the arc gives Young Nalas a floor-spacing option, while her passing and rebounding add contributions beyond shotmaking. She brings positive energy to her role and delivered a strong shooting performance in the championship game.
