Kevin Battle, Hoosier Phenoms Make No. 1 Case After Winning Jr. 3SSB Boys Nationals 12U Gold Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The 12U Gold division at the Jr. 3SSB Boys National Championships delivered one of the strongest championship runs of the weekend, with No. 8 nationally ranked Hoosier Phenoms I.E. (IN) completing an undefeated title run behind MVP Kevin Battle.

Hoosier Phenoms I.E. made a strong case for No. 1. The Phenoms entered Rock Hill ranked No. 8 nationally, but left with a résumé worthy of serious No. 1 consideration after winning the 12U Gold championship in a field loaded with Top-10 contenders. Their bracket run included wins over No. 5 All Covered Prospects, No. 25 D1MiNN 3SSB and No. 12 Midwest Basketball Club Wyant, while D1MiNN had already eliminated No. 2 Lightning Elite. Hoosier did not just win the title — it proved it could beat the teams that were beating other elite teams.

Battle saved his best for last, scoring 17 points, 2 rebounds and 1 block to lead Hoosier Phenoms to the 12U Gold National Championship. At 6’0″, he brings rare size and physicality for the 2032 class, establishing deep position, finishing through contact and controlling the paint on both ends. Battle’s footwork and touch around the basket separate him from most interior players his age, and he consistently impacts winning without needing high volume.
