Kaleena Smith Leads Seven Days to Back-to-Back 17U adidas 3SSB Championships

Seven Days Basketball completed its second consecutive 17U championship run with a 63-58 overtime victory over Southwest Select at the adidas 3SSB Girls Championships. Tournament MVP Kaleena Smith produced 40 points, four assists, two steals and one block in the title game before scoring five decisive points during overtime.

Meta Hoops defeated ETG Midwest 65-61 to capture the 17U Classic championship behind MOP Berkley Jones, while Alabama Roadrunners Premier Gold beat Open Gym Premier Ladera Gold 57-46 to win the 17U Gold title behind MOP Skylynn Latham.

Seven Days Wins Back-to-Back 17U 3SSB Championships

Seven Days Basketball 63, Southwest Select 58 (OT)

Seven Days had to recover from a 10-point deficit and a difficult second quarter in which Southwest Select built momentum behind consecutive Finley Chastain three-pointers. The game reached overtime tied at 55 before Seven Days created separation with an 8-3 advantage in the extra period.

Smith carried the largest scoring responsibility, finishing with 40 points on 13-for-23 shooting. She made six three-pointers, went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line and added four assists. Her go-ahead three with 1:25 remaining in overtime gave Seven Days the lead, and a following jumper supplied the final separation.

Chloe Jenkins added 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Jordan Janae Brown contributed five points and five rebounds, while Brieana Brown finished with two points, seven rebounds and one steal. Seven Days shot 47.9 percent from the field, made seven three-pointers and committed only four turnovers.

Southwest Select received a strong answer from Eve Long, who scored 30 points on 10-for-17 shooting and made 10 of 12 free throws. Geralynn Byers-Veal added 11 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one block. Elizabeth Lee finished with eight points, six rebounds and four assists, while Chastain made two three-pointers and scored six.

Tournament MVP: Kaleena Smith

Smith entered championship day averaging 22.5.0 points, 8.3 assists and 4.3 steals before delivering the defining performance of the event with 40 points in the final. She showed why she is regarded as the No. 1 player in the 2027 class. Her shooting range forced Southwest to defend her several feet beyond the three-point line, and her low, controlled handle allowed her to reject screens, split pressure and reach open space. She processed the help quickly, moved the ball when a second defender committed and recognized when the possession required her to score. In overtime, Smith made the go-ahead three and the following jumper that completed Seven Days’ back-to-back championship run.

Arije’s 28-point Final Four performance was one of the strongest individual outings of the event. She made four three-pointers with a smooth, compact left-handed release, then attacked downhill in either direction when defenders extended their coverage. At 6-foot, she used her strength and balance to finish through contact in the painted area while shifting comfortably between initiating the offense and playing away from the ball. Her six rebounds and three blocks also showed how her size and athleticism translated beyond scoring.

Bisola Arowolo (FAM Hoops) — 14.0 PPG | 6.0 RPG | 1.5 SPG | 51.1% FG

Arowolo used her size well throughout the event. At 6-foot, she handled the ball comfortably, attacked the painted area and stayed balanced through contact. She also showed touch on pull-up jumpers and made the pass when help arrived. Her length helped her rebound and defend multiple perimeter positions.

Jenkins looked comfortable playing up in the 17U field. At 6-foot-1, the guard used her size to see over pressure, finish through contact and rebound. She made quick decisions, moved the ball when help arrived and scored without forcing attempts. Defensively, she handled different assignments and stayed active around the ball. That versatility gave Seven Days another steady option throughout its championship run and showed why she should be considered the top player nationally in the 2029 class.

Corinne Lomax (Mass Rivals) — 18.6 PPG | 10.4 RPG | 1.6 APG | 2.2 BPG

Lomax rebounded in traffic, chased down balls outside her immediate area and could push the ball after securing it. On offense, she used long strides to reach the painted area and maintained her balance through contact. Her length also allowed her to contest shots and defend both wings and forwards. Rebounding was the most reliable part of her game during the event.

Lee, the Colorado commit, gave Southwest Select steady play at point guard. At 6-foot, she saw over pressure and delivered passes on time, particularly after drawing help in the painted area. She rarely rushed possessions, rebounded well from the guard position and used her length in passing lanes. Her eight points, six rebounds and four assists in the championship reflected how she influenced the game without needing a high number of shots.

Eve Long (Southwest Select) — 22.0 PPG | 4.8 RPG | 1.0 BPG | 56.2% FG | Championship: 30 PTS, 4 REB

Long was one of the best players in Rock Hill and the player Southwest Select trusted when games tightened. At 6-foot-3, she scored over smaller defenders in the painted area and attacked bigger defenders from the perimeter. Her 30 points in the championship kept Southwest in position to win through regulation, as she made 10 field goals and 10 free throws. The Notre Dame commit combined size, skill and competitiveness in a way few players at the event could match, confirming her place among the top five nationally in her class.

Jordan Janae Brown (Seven Days Basketball) — 11.0 PPG | 3.6 RPG | 1.2 3PM | Championship: 5 PTS, 5 REB

Brown played well beyond her age while helping Seven Days win the 17U championship. The 5-foot-10 guard created separation with a controlled handle, reached her midrange jumper and attacked the painted area without losing her balance. She was comfortable initiating the offense or working away from the ball, and she rarely forced a decision when help arrived. Even with fewer scoring opportunities in the championship, she stayed involved with five rebounds and quick ball movement. Her play against older competition gave her a legitimate case as one of the top players in the 2029 class.

London Smith (Team Elite Hubbard) — 13.2 PPG | 4.2 RPG | 3.8 APG | 1.0 SPG

Smith was dependable with the ball for Team Elite. She advanced it quickly when transition was available, then slowed down and reset when it was not. She used her speed to reach the painted area, kept her head up and passed to the open teammate when the defense collapsed. Her willingness to shoot the three also made defenders stay closer. Smith finished the Sweet 16 win over Texas LoneStar with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists, then made two late free throws to close out the 58-55 victory.

Nation Williams (Lady Prospects Elite) — 22.8 PPG | 12.0 RPG | 1.6 SPG | 1.4 BPG

Williams did most of her work around the basket for Lady Prospects Elite. She established position early, used her strength to secure rebounds in traffic and finished second-chance opportunities. When a second defender came, she moved the ball and found teammates cutting around her. She also challenged shots and moved well enough to defend away from the basket. Her performance in Rock Hill supported her standing as a top-15 player nationally in the 2027 class.

Meta Hoops Captures the 17U Classic Championship

Meta Hoops 65, ETG Midwest 61

Meta Hoops combined efficient shooting with better ball security to hold off ETG Midwest. Meta shot 47.1 percent from the field, made nine three-pointers and committed four turnovers. ETG won the rebounding battle 29-23 and produced 15 assists, but its seven turnovers gave Meta a small possession advantage in a four-point game.

Lauren Hood led Meta with 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting, made all three of her three-point attempts and added three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Taya Nelson scored 14 points, while Berkley Jones and Kya Davis finished with 11 apiece. Jones added four rebounds and four assists, and Davis supplied five rebounds, three assists and one block.

Addison Medeck led ETG with 20 points and 11 rebounds on 7-for-11 shooting. Kaytee Irons added 15 points and made three three-pointers. Mollie Probasco scored 13 with four three-pointers, while TNiyah Wilson-Smith contributed seven points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Classic MOP: Berkley Jones

Jones entered the final averaging 22 points and 7.0 rebounds. Her scoring pressure came from the way she combined deep shooting range with physical drives. Defenders had to extend well beyond the three-point line, and Jones attacked that added space when they closed hard, using her strength to play through contact and finish in traffic.

ETG limited her scoring opportunities in the championship, but Jones adjusted to the additional attention. Instead of forcing attempts, she passed out of pressure, helped Meta keep the ball moving and finished with 11 points, four rebounds and four assists. She remained active defensively and on the glass, and her willingness to shift from scorer to facilitator became an important part of Meta’s four-point victory.

Medeck gave ETG a dependable frontcourt presence throughout the event, entering the championship averaging 10.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists. At 6-foot-3, she moved well for her size, ran the floor consistently and established position in the painted area. Her best work came through physical play, as she absorbed contact, finished around the basket and pursued rebounds outside her immediate area.

Athena Thompson (New York Gauchos) — 15.4 PPG | 4.0 RPG | 2.0 SPG | 2.0 3PM

At 5-foot-10, Thompson used her length and change of pace to create shots from the perimeter, midrange and painted area. She showed patience on baseline drives, involved teammates when the defense shifted toward her and remained active on the glass and in passing lanes.

Brooklyn Schilb (M14 Hoops) — 16.0 PPG | 4.3 RPG | 2.0 APG | 1.0 SPG

At 6-foot, Schilb used her size and fluid movement to get downhill and consistently pressure the painted area. She attacked closeouts, maintained her balance through contact and used her frame to shield the ball around the basket. Her activity also showed in her pursuit of rebounds and loose balls.

Destiny Maze (Della Basketball) — 11.3 PPG | 3.7 RPG | 1.2 APG | 1.8 SPG

Maze can handle both guard positions and was most effective when she played quickly without overdribbling. She advanced the ball in transition, identified the help defender and delivered passes on time. In the half court, her shooting touch gave her a scoring counter when defenders went under screens, while her balance helped her manage physical pressure. She also read passing lanes well and consistently rebounded from the perimeter.

Greenlee Elmore (Team ISO) — 16.8 PPG | 4.6 RPG | 2.0 APG | 2.0 SPG

Elmore created offense without needing much space. Her handle remained compact under pressure, and she used changes of direction and pace to get defenders leaning before attacking. She finished effectively in the painted area and was comfortable stepping into a three when the defense backed away. Her passing was most effective after she drew a second defender, while her active hands disrupted passes and created transition opportunities

Kaytee Irons (ETG Midwest) — 16.8 PPG | 2.2 RPG | 2.0 APG | 3.5 3PM | Championship: 15 PTS, 3 3PM

Irons changed the spacing of the floor with the depth and consistency of her jumper. She was prepared to shoot off the catch, relocated well after moving the ball and remained a threat several feet beyond the three-point line. In pick-and-roll situations, she kept her dribble long enough to read the coverage and delivered the ball quickly when the roller or weak-side teammate became available. That combination allowed ETG to use her comfortably both on and off the ball.

Hood has the ability to work off the ball for a catch-and-shoot three or initiate the offense and reach her pull-up jumper and floater. Her patience allowed the defense to commit before she made the next pass, while her upper-body strength helped her finish through contact in the painted area.

Lulu Giometti (Bay City Basketball) — 12.2 PPG | 2.4 RPG | 2.4 APG | 2.4 3PM

Giometti required attention several feet beyond the three-point line. She set her feet quickly off movement, was comfortable shooting off the catch or after one or two dribbles and consistently filled the trail position in transition. When defenders chased her off the line, she kept the ball under control and made the next pass rather than forcing a shot. Her willingness to relocate after giving up the ball made her more difficult to cover than a stationary shooting specialist.

Maya Deshautelle (Team NorCal) — 12.3 PPG | 2.0 RPG | 1.5 3PM | 0.5 BPG

Deshautelle played with a direct, controlled approach. Her first step allowed her to turn the corner without using unnecessary dribbles, and she maintained her balance when defenders met her with contact in the painted area. She attacked available gaps within the offense, moved the ball when help arrived and handled pressure without allowing the possession to speed her up.

Alabama Roadrunners Premier Wins the 17U Gold Championship

Alabama Roadrunners Premier Gold 57, Open Gym Premier Ladera Gold 46

Alabama controlled the glass and generated enough defensive activity to overcome an uneven shooting game and 21 turnovers. The Roadrunners won the rebounding battle 43-31, recorded 13 steals and attempted 14 more field goals than Ladera.

Gold MOP Skylynn Latham finished with 16 points, four rebounds, five assists, six steals and one block while making three three-pointers. Aree McElroy added 15 points and nine rebounds on 6-for-11 shooting. Jaidan Davis-Hines contributed eight points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Diamond Chankio added eight points and seven rebounds.

Lenzy Turner led Ladera with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals. Sofi Vaka added 11 points, five rebounds, two steals and one block. Leanne Al Juburi finished with nine points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Gold MOP: Skylynn Latham

Latham entered the final averaging 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.9 steals. Throughout the event, she operated as a true point guard who managed the pace, organized Alabama’s offense and looked to involve her teammates before hunting her own shot. She understood when the game needed her to create and when it needed her to score.

Her championship performance captured that balance. Latham made three three-pointers and created five assists while finishing with 16 points. Defensively, her anticipation and pressure at the point of attack produced six steals, repeatedly disrupting Ladera’s offense and creating additional possessions for Alabama.
