The Grassroots 365 Halloween Classic lit up Southern California this past weekend, uniting many of the West Coast’s premier youth programs for a national-level showcase filled with elite competition, rankings implications, and major media coverage. Scope Scouting was on-site evaluating top young prospects, and the future of grassroots basketball continues to look bright.
Rising Talent Defines the Weekend
The event featured a deep pool of emerging talent, highlighted by skilled guards, versatile wings, and dominant bigs all in Orange County’s premier basketball facilities of Open Gym Premier and the MAP. DYA Inland’s Kaleb Jackson set the tone with his two-way impact, defensive energy, and transition scoring, earning 14U West Scope MVP honors. In the 14u East Scope MVP, AZ Unity’s Noah Hale led with poise, controlling tempo and hitting key shots.
Corona Jr. 3SSB showcased a strong duo in Braeden Schiller and Kingston Neal, combining versatility, defense, and playmaking. Squad’s Draylan McClinton and King Harris dominated inside and on the break, while The U’s Bryce Bible and Prince Outler anchored the paint and pressured full-court. The Magic Boyz trio of Myan Walker, Cameron Shepard, and Aiden Johnson dazzled with guard play, offensive creativity, and defensive intensity. AZ Unity’s backcourt impressed with shooting, vision, and composure, setting the tone for a loaded weekend of competition.

- Draylan McClinton (Squad) – Dominant interior force averaging 20 PPG and 11.5 RPG; finishes strong and protects the rim.
- King Harris (Squad) – Explosive scorer and emotional leader; elite athleticism and relentless two-way energy.
- Bryce Bible (The U) – 6’6” big with strong mobility and feel; anchors the paint defensively and finishes efficiently inside.
- Prince Outler (The U) – Relentless two-way guard who pressures full court and scores in bunches (24 & 23 points in back-to-back games).
- Cameron Shepard (Magic Boyz) – Shifty guard with tight handle, defensive energy, and confident shot-making ability.
- Myan Walker (Magic Boyz) – Skilled three-level scorer with advanced footwork, balance, and mature decision-making.
- Aiden Johnson (2030, Magic Boyz) – Quick, creative guard with an elite hesitation move and high-level on-ball defense.
- Jeremy Combs (AZ Unity) – Reliable shooter who spaces the floor, moves well without the ball, and scores efficiently.
- Ezekiel Vernis (AZ Unity) – Fast, poised guard with excellent vision; creates for others and locks in defensively.
- Noah Hale (AZ Unity) – Composed lead guard who dictates pace, rebounds aggressively, and delivers in key moments.
